I did not enjoy my coffee, but I don’t think this is against their quality. They roast their own beans so their ingredients are high quality and unique to them. Their beans tend to be uniformly described as “chocolatey” and I don’t think I enjoy espresso that leans “chocolatey”. The service was nice and they helped answer my questions! They were also very fast, clearly a favorite with the people that work nearby. I saw a group of businesswomen meeting up for their morning coffee prior to starting the workday. The store seating is small but it is in the city so space is limited.

The Voltaire Coffee Shop— loveliest coffee shop on South Market in San Jose’s downtown! The avocado toast was incredible, and the iced matcha latte topped with foam was absolutely amazing. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee. ❤️

This is one of the most consistently great coffee and one of my favorites. My favorite flavor is the organic coconut oil latte. Reminds me of lattes I get in Hawaii when I'm there. The environment is clean and newly remodeled. Staff is friendly and welcoming. My only problem is parking can be a challenge. Once that hurdle has been cleared, in my humble opinion. It is worth it. I really enjoy when I go to order my coffee and it is a bean roasting day. It smells so good. I would highly recommend Voltaire Coffee Roasters if you are in the downtown San Jose area.

Coffee was excellent, however i came here primarily for a late breakfast only to discover they changed their menu over 6 month ago. I was disappointed that all the reviews and pictures show delicious avocado toast with a poached egg 🍳. It does not exist here anymore. 😢 Highly Recommended (5 stars) for coffee. But 2 stars for late breakfast options.

Voltaire Coffee is a hidden gem in downtown San Jose, offering some of the best coffee I’ve had in a while. The coffee beans truly stand out with a distinct flavor that hits differently in the best way. I tried the double shot vanilla latte and the caramel latte, both were excellent and crafted to perfection. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, whether you choose to sit indoors or enjoy the outdoor seating. The latte art is impressive and adds a personal touch to the experience. The service is equally delightful, making the whole visit a hit. If you’re in San Jose and looking for a small, charming coffee spot with great vibes and even better coffee, Voltaire is definitely worth a visit!
